24 September, the year of the 125th anniversary of Agatha Christie, Grand Hotel Europe presents a wine dinner with the chef of the famous writer trains Venice Simplon-Orient-Express and the house wine “Baron Philippe de Rothschild”, the credo of which is to produce the best wines in the world in any category.
Evening in the restaurant “Europe” will recreate the atmosphere of an aristocratic continental train travel vintage “Orient Express”, shrouded in mystery and intrigue, which comfortably traveled writers, statesmen and monarchs of the twentieth century. To bladams menu matched pair a unique wine Baron Philippe de Rothschild that by the glass it is possible to try only here.
The dinner menu has developed a creative Duo: the chef of Grand Hotel Europe Ian Minnis and Christian Bodiguel, a Frenchman who for 30 years headed the kitchen of the legendary luxury train with three dining cars. In the early nineteenth century architect Charles Ili was rebuilt to a hotel in one of the houses. Ritz was the first hotel in the world, each room of which was fitted with a bath. The kitchen at the hotel answered the legendary chef Auguste Escoffier.
At various times it has welcomed such celebrities as Edward VII, Reza Shah Pahlavi, Charlie Chaplin, Greta Garbo, Frederic Chopin, Scott Fitzgerald, Marlene Dietrich and sir Elton John. In honor of some well-known guests have been named the most luxurious rooms. The hotel bar is actually the name of one of the regulars at the Ritz – Ernest Hemingway. The highest hotels in the world reach to the sky, literally exceeding the height of luxury. From new York to Hong Kong, most prominent developers and business moguls are spending billions of dollars on creating the most outstanding hotels, skyscrapers, trying to outdo all the other buildings of the same type. They build up, as if cities and countries are competing for the exclusive title of possessing the highest super structures (actually they are).
Regardless of whether they are a source of national pride, or simply an irrepressible race for first place in the ever competing world of luxury tourism, hotels stop at nothing to create towers that include everything from presidential suites to the casino on their rooftops.
Most of the hotels are not so luxurious that not accept less affluent travelers, although in such hotels, you will still have to spend much more than you’re used to.
